La Petite Gallerie is excited to welcome pencil artist Mary Burrell into our midst as a member artist. Her work is a delightful addition to the gallery!
In Mary's own words...
I've curated a portfolio of drawing by the use of distinctive textures, shading and a keen attention to detail along with many layers. Drawing, to me, is a meditative practice, and oddly enough, the more detail the drawing, the more I find it enjoyable.
Primarily self-taught, I am constantly seeking new avenues to explore in the realm of art. My preferred medium is pencil. While I do enjoy playing with acrylic at times.
I embrace challenges when selecting subject matter, viewing them as opportunities for improvement.
In 2020, I secured first place in the category for the SOBA Judged Show, followed by a second-place win in 2021 and a third-place win in 2022.
My artwork can be seen at La Petite Gallery, SOBA Gallery in Old Town Bluffton and Alexander's Restaurant on Hilton Head.
